Biography

Kangxian Xie is a 1st-year PhD student in Computer Science at the State University of New York, Buffalo. He is advised by Professor. Mingchen Gao. His research focuses on AI for healthcare, primarily using machine learning and deep learning techniques to analyze 2D/3D medical images. Prior to joining SUNY at Buffalo, he was honored to receive mentorship from Professor Donglai Wei, Dr. Siyu Huang and Dr. Jiangcheng Yang, working as research assistant. During his master’s study, he started research in field of medical image analysis on brain MRI in Bil@Boston University. He earned his M.S. Computer Science degree in 2022 at Boston University and B.S. degree in Math and Computer Science at UC San Diego in 2019. He comes from the city of Zhuhai, Guangdong, China.
